God Revealing Himself to Mankind

The Word became flesh and made His dwelling among us. We have seen His glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.” (John 1:14)

Greetings in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We glorify and honor God for the work that He did over 2,000 years ago.  During this time of year we celebrate God the Son revealing Himself to mankind. In Acts, Paul told the Greeks in Athens that God has created us to search after God and that God is not far from any one of us.

God is continuing to make Himself known to mankind through His Word and through the testimony of Christ’s followers. Here in Kenya we have so many opportunities to make Christ known to people who are in darkness. Some people have rejected Jesus when we share the Gospel but many more have accepted this free gift of salvation.

A few weeks ago I was walking the streets of Kayole, Nairobi, with Pastor Patrick. We met a group of Maasai men and Pastor Patrick shared the good news of Jesus Christ with them. They were interested but hesitant to give their life to Christ. I shared with them that God is not far from them and is wanting to accept them as children when they put their faith in Him. All four men accepted Jesus as their Savior. Pray that they and the many others who have accepted Jesus will continue to follow God.

End of the Year Update

We have just finished 10 months of serving with Things to Come Mission (TCM) in Kenya. We have made Kenya our home and have jumped right into ministry. We are currently focusing on three main areas of ministry: church planting, the residential Bible school and partnering with the Kenya ministry to reach into new areas of East Africa.

Church Planting
We are working alongside Pastor Patrick Kilei to plant a church in Kayole, Nairobi. Each week I spend a day with Patrick witnessing, following up and leading Bible studies. Wilson, a recent convert and new member of the church, has been inviting us to his shop to conduct a Bible study. Every time we meet there Wilson brings another one of his friends so we can witness to them. Many people are coming to know Christ and are joining Grace Bible Church, Kayole. Pray for the growth and maturity of this church.

Residential Bible School
The residential Bible School will be starting on the 6th of January. We have been working hard to prepare the new classroom and the grounds in the front. This school will be used to train many new pastors and Bible women to take the message of the grace of God all over Kenya. Pray that the students will come and be faithful.

Partnering with GBC Kenya
Grace Bible Church in Kenya has 65 churches and is continuing to grow. Some pastors in Kenya have expressed interest in working as missionaries in some of the neighboring countries. TCM wants to work with Grace Bible Church Kenya and these pastors to reach into East Africa. Next week Ben Anderson and I will be taking a trip to Ethiopia to meet a contact there. Pray that this will be successful and that we will be able to expand TCM’s work in East Africa.

“And I pray that you, being rooted and established in love, may have power…to grasp how wide and long and high and deep is the love of Christ” (Ephesians 3:17b-18).
